Good Morning!
I am back in the saddle, more rested and relaxed than before. I prefer Island Kathy but regular Kathy has already had to answer the phone with an Ag Boosters call, gone to our grocery store, made dinner and gotten Hubby off to work. We were all thrown back into our real lives within moments of returning home.
It was wonderful to escape our pressure of every day life, but cows and goats needed feeding, Hubby and Dunk head to work today, and Island Gator will only remain during certain hours. Island Gator is the funniest part of our trip he just didn’t want to come back. There were times we thought he would jump out and run back to Uncle T-Ray’s truck to beg to stay forever. Gator has always declared himself the most country kid, until Island Gator leaps out. Gator hates shoes, and flip-flops and crocs are a perfect fit. The rest of us are all very light skinned, he got the Native Indian Blood in him and he tans so easily. He can look like he has lived at Rockport for years.
Rockport is totally unlike Galveston or Padre Island, it is a fishing escape. Unless you love fishing, and the pursuit of it, Rockport is probably not your best bet, there are a few beaches but it is mostly a bay with many fishing locales. The kayaks look amazing, personally I would love to do a kayak adventure not to fish but to see stuff. We never have enough time to do everything we want, but we always have a great time. The boys went fishing. Sconicle swam more than any kid I know that is still human. Hubby went antique shopping, and pawn shopping. We did miss the gun shop, but we ran out of time. We saw the huge majestic boats that some people own it was breathtaking.
I haven’t been home long enough to even upload my pictures, Gator took some silly ones I am sure. I have many fish and dolphin pictures, which was just amazing. I will post some later when I get time. Rockport has the cabbage head jellyfish, which I had not ever seen. I am accustomed to the long tentacles.
There was much I wanted to blog about while there but I am truly glad I took the time off. It is a wonderful change to not think about things and just enjoy your family and the moment. Being with my brother is like a party most of the time, he is just so funny. It seemed to the kids like everyone in Rockport knew him, as he tried to explain if they own a boat, he knows them. At one time or another, he has sold them something. The boys enjoyed seeing Uncle T-Ray in his element, it is the brother I know well but they rarely get to see. He is like a sea picture until you really look hard at it you don’t appreciate all it has.
I am actually glad to be home, but if I had millions drop on me there is house in Rockport with my name on it.
