If I only had a Brain

Sticky post till Congress and Senate get back to work, new content further down

Rumor has it that Nancy has changed her mind. I highly doubt it but we will see how long of her paid vacation it will take her to truly make up her mind to get back to work. And you are paying the bill my reader!

Scoop is they finally started Congress this afternoon. They started it with Representative members speaking short speeches. Ted Poe saying that unless we diversified, we were doomed to pay too much at the pump. Shirley Jackson Lee saying this congress was the most active and doing Congress. Poor Shirley, someone tell her most Americans work 40 hour work weeks, without 5 weeks of paid vacation.

There is no reason for any government official to be off on a paid vacation for five weeks while every American is suffering because they refuse to do what they were elected to do. All the people are wanting is a vote, not a done deal, not a debate a vote.

Nancy what you seem to skip right over is NO ONE person wrote the constitution, it was a group of men called together for the greater good of the group. Nancy you are not a Queen. You are an elected official. I do know my rights, and the two people that have violated them are You and Harry. Past time to do something about it, you have pushed Americans too far for too long.

Stumble It!

Sadly, they only care what we think when it's time for re-election and then for whatever reason...people re-elect them. I don't know if it's a question of "the devil you know" or what but it makes me ill.

Yep Nessa and Nancy and Harry are not on the ballot this year.

Can't we just dump all of the politicos in DC and start over? They have all become such career politicians that they have forgotten who got them there and that they are supposed to be representing us!

Funny how this hue and cry didn't go up from the Republicans when Jesse Helms used his power to filibuster issues he didn't want voted on. Or when there was a nominee he didn't agree with. Now the shoe is on the other foot, so to speak, and Republicans are wetting themselves in frustration.

Anna, I see a big cry for starting over but the voters don't seem to think to vote in terms of term limits.

Lee a huge difference between being a Rep and the speaker of the House. These two are completely controlling the agenda. Please I am a Texan, our Dem House left Texas when they didn't get their way. Helms was no different than Byrd, way past being able relevant. But I see neither side willing to throw either one of them out.

If Nancy's making herself Queen of the country, then the citizens should rise with one accord and say: "OFF WITH HER HEAD!"

Toni said...

Amen! Can we say term limits. It makes me ill that they are a paid vacation!!!!!!!!!!!

Kathy said...

HEB there are petitions to impeach Nancy I signed two of them!

Toni Cindy Sheehan is running for congress as an independent against Nancy. You may get your wish!

Actually... I think my qualm is more with them getting five weeks of vacation....

I think our elected officials should get the same pay and benefits that a first year fast food worker gets. That includes health care too. :P I guarantee our economy and health care situation would be worked out really quick if they had to live hand to mouth without vacations.

Nancy Pelosi is a joke.

And while we are at it, so is Harry "Land Deal" Reid.

I am not a big fan of John McCain, but he is a better leader in the Senate than either Pelosi or Reid.

I am glad I have kept this as a sticky. It allows a place for everyone to vent!

Thanks for your comments!

What kinds of decisions do you make now about your health care that you would lose under the plan US Senators have? This is the kind of plan Obama offers. That would be worth checking out before you make up your mind. This issue is too important to do otherwise. Any of us can be stricken with illness at any time, and be subject to high bills, restricted access to the best treatments, and the misery of fighting with insurance companies while ill.

Anon,
Affordable healthcare is something I have done much research about. I am a breast cancer survivor. What I know is where there is National Healthcare, there is no choice, a long wait and very little full satisfaction for those with cancer or other deadly illnesses.

What I am after is a private partnership that allows discounts, while keeping the doctors I love in business. Many breast cancer patients wait months for treatment where it is socialized medicine.

I live in California Kathy. I don't care for Harry or her. They scare me very, very much. :)

Angela Thanks! I am going to catch up with my awards this week! Thanks so much I am honored!

Sandee I have heard that outside of LA and SF California is basically conservative oriented. Although not as conservative as a lot of the country.
