Dell Financial Services

As a source of honesty, my frustration with Dell Financial Services has continued. I have made four payments in the last four months. I have filed a complaint with Texas Commissioner of Consumer Services which licenses Dell to do business in Texas.

I have been laughed at, called by a computer at 8:15 AM to only find there is no person to talk to. My rates have gone to an interest rate I am sure Russia uses.

I have emailed, mailed and phoned Dell to negotiate a lower rate all to no avail.

I have a link Here to all the complaints at Ripoffs.com that has 120 complaints as of now.

This company should not be dealt with if you value money. Because from what I can see they will fee you, over charge you and refuse to talk about any help you can receive from them even after you pay your bill four months in a row.

I was one day late when the computer called me. After I called a collector in hopes I could talk to a customer service rep he coded my account to receive five phone calls a day. They will call you even after you pay. I made a payment on 3/9 and until I faxed another letter to the Texas Commissioner of Consumer Credit did I get no phone calls.

Apparently as powerful as Dell is to call you five times a day they can tell you have paid an account on the Dell Financial Website and you bank has EFTed the funds.

Highway Robbery

I apologize this post is a bit late in the day. As I type I realize what kind of day I woke up to! I was handling financial stuff before any caffeine! I do not recommend that in any way! It just happened, kind of like falling out of Dunk’s big truck. You know it might happen but you dread it!

Let’s start at the “begine” I have been trying to tame my paper tiger tail. It is a deep, wide and frankly over grown beast of itself! I was up till 2 AM, yes I know that is late. I overslept till 8, yes I know that is late for me as well. I got a lot done, but not as much as I wish. I am doing the Dave Ramsey’s My Total Money Makeover Program. I am working on my budget crunching the numbers hard as I can. Hubby is glad I got it done, but doesn’t like my numbers. His words for Dell can not be repeated here let’s just say that.

Credit Cards have you over a barrel and here is why. If you pay too much in Finance charges you are giving money away. Then if you don’t pay them they ruin your credit bureau so you cannot even refinance an existing mortgage for a lower rate if you need to. Hubby says the companies should be renamed to Highway Robbery. Like I said he doesn’t like my numbers.

But let us escape for a second any ugly numbers. Let us virtually go where we have not gone before! Let us pretend money is no object, my paper trail is something I can handle. Enter the Scan I salivate for! Yes this bad boy would make my paper clutter worn butt happy as a lark. Today just today we are going to pretend you and I own this puppy! CCs are zero, and life is easy!

Yes I know you can think me later!

Rant Ahead

Warning Rant Ahead, On Top of My Soap Box

You as a tax payer have no bailout. We as a farm family with a job at a factory have no bailout. Nobody, and I do mean nobody is giving this family a break! The reality is harsh, it is ugly. There is nothing any company is giving us in terms of financial help.

I have spent the last month trying to rework our finances, trying to do deep cut spending with a little success. We as responsible people are willing to pay any debt we have, but I was naive. Two companies are willing to give us lower interest rates, and you should know it up front who to do business with. Target and Macy’s has given me a lower interest rate as long as I pay each and every month. Dell Financial on the other hand is not a friendly company. Yet I know first hand that Dell ask their employees to take off five days without pay. It is a money hungry, not nice to those struggling.

If we look back on our last year I know that it is a miracle my Hubby is alive, we are still farming and he is still working. In the last year my Hubby had an accident that could have killed him and two other people. Yes he made a mistake, and thankfully three people survived. The opposite would not be good. The accident put us behind financially because of the loss of income. We as positive people counted on the corn crop to catch us up. The reality is it was a bust. Then my Hubby’s work had layoffs, and he survived the layoffs. That is why I am happy we are still here, the opposite would not be desirable. I am grateful for everything God has given us. That includes the debt we have, the reason being we have to face our finances. We have to look at our lifestyle which we really thought was a miser lifestyle until reality slapped us in the face! When you are down, there is only one way up.

That is why I am mad. As we ate our miser meal from the company party, we did not see the big wigs that are normally there. Nope they don’t show up when the food is not plentiful or tasty, take us to a nice restaurant and they come out of the woodwork. Typical! The local union workers that are laid off are being paid something for two years. The workers at my hubby’s factory got a miserly check, and a boot out the door. Many laid off workers get just the boot. That is what is real. You get no breaks, we get no breaks. The CEOs that cut jobs while going on fancy retreats is ridiculous.

Govt is the problem, make no mistake! The Govt has no business bailing out anyone. The reason is when will it end? Never! The reality is no matter what the average person will never see a dime of that money nor as I found out the last couple of weeks you get no willingness to give you an easier ability to get out of debt. It is a do or die situation at our peril.

We did redo our budget. I had already negotiated lower interest rates with Target and Macys. They were able to continue to give us a lower interest rate. Dell Financial on the other hand calls me everyday, not every other day everyday. Even though I explain that my ability to pay is not there. Christmas has been put on hold until we figure something. My mortgage and utilities is first to be paid and that has been a struggle. The cost of the corn failure has finally caught up with us. We do have an answer, and the money will be here soon but knowing which companies have treated us like dirt I refuse to stay quiet.

It goes without saying this is my opinion alone, nobody but nobody may agree with this! That could include Hubby, but it ain’t his blog it is mine dad gum it! The way I am looking at it, we are trying to do our best in a bad situation. We are not alone, and it will get worse for many including us on any given day. Life Happens.

The other thing that should be gleaned from this post is Don’t use Credit! Don’t ever have an car accident, and for goodness sake don’t have a crop failure! Yep I know hard to do!

So here is my bad list.

Germania Home Insurance Cheap house insurance. They have refused to insure us. The only claim we ever had is when hail hit the town and half the homes needed new roofs. Thanks I appreciate it!

Farm Bureau Auto Insurance Hubby has been a member since 1973, and bought much insurance since then each and every year. He had two accidents in one year, one was not his fault but without witnesses and the police wrote down “could not be determined”. We had to have the truck fixed so it would drive. Then Hubby made a mistake, and was hit by a couple. It was his fault, he is the first to tell you. Farm Bureau raised our rates to unbelievable rates, and with an 18 year old male it was more than double our mortgage. Thanks appreciate that customer loyalty!

Dell Financial I am behind guess what it is not the worst thing in the world. They call every day, not every other day every day. They will until I pay two things the amount due or the full balance. Yep you have to love Dell. They lay off American workers hire foreign call banks and treat customers like dirt!

Now to my Good List

Target I have been on the phone in the past crying trying to figure out how to negotiate a lower rate so we could take care of the bill. They helped me! They understood! Low interest rate and a low payment, it was a gift they gave me! I love Target!

Macy’s same scenario crying on the phone. They listened. I got a low interest rate and low payments. I love Macy’s!

State Farm. State Farm is willing to insure our autos and house at a lower rate than Farm Bureau and Germania. Thankfully they see us as good customers that had a rough year. I love State Farm!

I should add here that the Germania agent did her best to try to help us. It was a wonderful try, and to be honest I wish her the very best. We felt like Germania has changed over the years, it is not the wonderful company it used to be.

I also need to say there are many creditors out there I know nothing about, thankfully I don’t! I only know who I am dealing with and how I feel as a customer.

I feel bad for those working for Dell, God knows it has to be hard to tell people like us they can not help.

So there you have it, no bail out for this family. No bail out for you, and no parade, no limousine drive, no fancy restaurants or retreats. And that my reader is why no one should want a bail out. Because it will only allow those take the money and run. They will to continue to do it.
